Fulford school were more than impressed with the depth and quality of our SSAT/innovit ICT HealthCheck service.
The innovit report has helped us improve on a number of fronts and staff satisfaction with ICT across the school, and in the technician team specifically, is definitely at a significant high.
This isn’t entirely down to the innovit recommendations – we are enjoying very stable and positive staffing for the first time in a while and have clear structures and responsibilities in place within the department – but your report did provide critical information and a useful catalyst to improve on a number of fronts.
The key developments linking into the report have been:
- Review of conditions within server room
- Daily removal of file back ups from site
- Planned phased extension of wireless across school site over next few years
- Much more accessible and pro active fault logging system
- Proper planning for ICT champions and introduction of Learning Platform Sept 2010
- Clear roles and responsibilities within technician team involving day to day upkeep, forward planning, learning platform introduction and outreach work with primary schools, secondary schools and community partners. These clear systems mean we get the most from our well staffed technician team
- Planned procurement program for Easter to bring hardware up to date across school and ensure we benefit from the cabling work undertaken last summer
- Discussions and some planning/training towards coming off RM supported system in the future
As you can see, a number of these directly feed in to your innovit report and the bolded items are those of particular relevance and gave immediate benefit to student learning across the school.
Many thanks for the flier you sent – we will certainly bear innovit and yourself in mind for future work.
We found the HealthCheck extremely useful in helping us identify things that needed to be done which we hadn't fully considered.
